In its second Newsletter, the Jean Monnet Chair "EU Budgetary Governance and Audit" communicates the launch of its website, by setting forth its services provided in both Greek and English, according to the WCAG 2.0 standards that allow for the access of disabled people. Earlier these months, particularly, on February 26-28, 2018, the head of the Chair and the project team held their first study visit, during which they were given the privileged opportunity to visit EACEA, the European Parliament, as well as its library, from which they collected valuable research material on the European Union (EU) fiscal governance. A notable moment of the visit was their participation in the Seminar of the EU Committee of the Regions concerning the significance of the governance quality in the socio-economic development. Moreover, on Friday, March 16, 2018, the first Conference of the Jean Monnet Chair "EU Budgetary Governance and Audit" for the presentation of the Annual Report of the European Court of Auditors (ECA) on the financial year 2016 took place in the conference room of the University of Macedonia welcoming the participation of members of the ECA. Furthermore, herein a milestone for Europe's future, May 2, 2018, is dwelled on. By that time the European Commission will publish its proposals on the forthcoming developments of the EU Budget, in the context of the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021 - 2027. In conclusion, this Newsletter discusses the planning by the European Court of Auditors of the budgetary audit in the EU for the financial year 2018, through which the process and the efficiency of the EU fiscal governance is inspected.
