Dimitrios Skiadas

Professor of EU Governance, Department of International and European Studies, University of Macedonia


Degree in Law (Univ. of Athens), MJur and PhD in EU law (Univ. of Durham – UK).

Areas of expertise: European Union Law, Public Law, Budgetary Law, and Project Management.

He has taught extensively courses on topics regarding his expertise at the University of Durham, the Hellenic Air Force Academy, the University of Athens, the University of Central Greece, the University of Macedonia and the National Centre of Public Administration and Local Governance. His professional record includes high ranking positions in Greek Public Administration, such as Secretary General for Commerce at the Ministry of Development, Special Secretary of European Union and Management of European Programmes at the Ministry of Education, Scientific Associate to the Vice President of the Special Permanent Committee of EU affairs at the Hellenic Parliament, etc, as well as in the private sector. He is a member of various research organisations and think tanks (European Law Institute – Univ. of Durham, Political Research Centre - Panteion University, Hellenic Association of Regional Scientists, etc). He has served as member of the Education Committee of the Council of Ministers of the European Union, of the Governing Body of CEDEFOP, of the Greek Monitoring Team on the Lisbon Strategy and of the Monitoring Committee of the Community Support Framework as well as of various Operational Programmes in Greece. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Association of Fellows and Legal Scholars of the Center for International Legal Studies, Salzburg (Austria). His publication record includes eight books, several contributions to collective volumes and books, and several articles in scientific journals, on subjects relating to the areas of his expertise, at national and international level. His work on the European Court of Auditors has been included in the selective bibliography suggested by the Court itself as source of knowledge on this institution.

Aikaterini Tsalampouni

Phd Candidate, Department of International and European Studies, University of Macedonia, Research Assistant


Tsalampouni Aikaterini has a bachelor Degree in social policy and administration and her postgraduate studies are in European Youth policy, Department of International and European Studies, University of Macedonia.Since November 2013 she has been working as an administrative assistant and project assistant in a non-profit association supervised and funded by the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Welfare. Her responsibilities include administrative duties as well as planning, implementing and tracking of EU-Funded Programs. Since November 2016 she is also responsible of the overall Project Management of a European Co-funded Project. She also has professional experience as a project coordinator and as an accounting assistant (for almost 6 years). In December 2012, she started conducting research at PhD level, in a field relevant to the effects of the economic crisis in Welfare State regimes and more specific in European Health care systems. Her goal is to specialize in subjects relevant to Welfare State regimes and changing patterns in Social Policy in Europe as well as in the consequences of the European Union policies on reforming health care systems in EU members.

Stergiani Zountsa

PhD Candidate, Department of International and European Studies, University of Macedonia, Research Assistant


She has a bachelor Degree in International and European studies, specialization Political Science and Diplomacy. She holds two master degrees the first one in International relations, with specialization in European Studies all the above has been followed in the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki; the second one is in the field of Public Administration and titled Crisis and Security Management from Leiden University. Now she is a PhD candidate with dissertation titled” Reforms in Regional Policy: The course towards the implementation of integrated urban development plans and the future European cities”. She has been an intern to the UNESCO Chair on Intercultural Policy at the University of Macedonia. She has extensive experience as administrative staff, and as a consultant in EU projects. She is a consultant in EU funded project since 1/9/2013 till now she is working in the field of EU projects in the proposal submission and implementation, such as Erasmus, Daphne, Horizon 2020, etc. She has experience in cross border projects such as Interreg MED, Greece-Bulgaria, Greece –FYROM etc. She speaks excellent English and very good Italian. She has attended a 42 hours seminar "Project Management Professional (PMP) Preparation Couse" from 8 till 31th of May 2015 and soon she will take the exams for Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification.
