The Jean Monnet Chair "Budgetary Governance of the EU and Audit" of the University of Macedonia, held its first Guest Lecture for the academic year 2019-2020. The first Guest Lecturer was Professor Konstantinos Lavdas from Panteion University, who, on 1.11.2019, delivered a lecture analysing, to a very large audience of undergraduate and postgraduate students, the procedure of interaction between states and public policies within the EU context, emphasising on the concepts of "enlargement" and "deepening", the elements of asymmetry and mutuality of interests that are being developed during the relevant negotiations, and using examples such as Brexit, the latest developments in Southeastern Europe and Eastern Mediterranean. the current state of affairs with regard to the new Multiannual Financial Framework of EU, etc.Afterwards there was a Q&A session between Professor Lavdas and the audience, leading to a very interesting dialogue.
