EU Budgetary Law
Semester 8
The course will analyse the institutional framework of the EU’s Budgetary Governance. Issues relating to the Union’s revenue and expenditure will be examined, especially with regard to the organization and the operation of the relevant mechanisms, the EU own resources systems, the EU budget and its principles, the budgetary procedure, the audit (internal and external), the protection of EU financial interests against fraud and similar activities.
EU Regulatory and Budgetary Governance & National Choices
Semester 5
The course examines at first the theoretical background of regulatory governance, the concept of regulation as a tool of implementing policies, the types, means and institutions of regulation. This analysis is further elaborated in the EU institutional and legal context.
Principles of Public Administration
Semester 1
This course is conducted in English, as it is part of a Postgraduate Programme, titled “International Public Administration”, addressed primarily to persons that seek employment in international organisations. The objective of the course is to address crucial issues, considered as principles due to their importance, with respect to the management and regulation of public administration in a framework of good governance.
EU Cohesion Policy
Semester 1
The basic aim of the course is to provide an analysis of the theoritical basis, as well as of the managerial aspects of the EU Cohesion Policy. It entails an examination of the historical course of this Policy as a means of explaining its current contents, and the basid arguments put forward in order to justify it are being analysed.
EU Legal and Budgetary Issues
Semester 1
The course on EU Legal and Budhetary issues will provide an analysis of the legal and budgetary framework of the EU’s organization and operation. The topics examined during the course entail the nature of EU Law and the position of the EU legal order, the analysis of the EU law-producing mechanism, the main elements of EU administrative operation and function, and the decision making procedures.
