The lecture series organised by the Jean Monnet Chair “EU Budgetary Governance and Audit” of the Department of International and European Studies at the University of Macedonia, within the Jean Monnet Module “Protection of EU financial interests against Fraud”, has been completed for the academic year 2021-2022. It included
A) on Wednesday, 11.5.2022, a lecture was given by Dr. Nikos Milionis, member of the European Court of Auditors and Vice-President of the Hellenic Court of Auditors, on “The protection of the financial interests of the EU and the role of the European Court of Auditors”.
B) on Monday, 16.5.2022, a lecture was given by Dr. Anna Damaskou, CFE, CAMS, CGSS, CIPP/E, CIPM, former President of the Hellenic Branch of Transparency International, on “The Legal Protection of Whistleblowers in Greece and the European Union”.
C) on Monday, 23.5.2022, a lecture was given by Mrs. Mara Brugia, Deputy Director of CEDEFOP (European Center for the Development of Vocational Training) based in Thessaloniki, on the topic “CEDEFOP’s strategy for fighting fraud”.
In each of these events there was live and online participation of students and a wider audience, with whom the invited speakers developed a very interesting and meaningful dialogue on the topics of the presentations.
The Chair warmly thanks the speakers and all those who participated in the lectures and is committed to organise similar activities in the following academic years.
