The Jean Monnet Chair «EU Budgetary Governance and Audit» of the University of Macedonia presents to its website the two notebooks which entail the results of the academic and research effort of the team of students from the University of Macedonia, which won, in June 2019, an international competition of universities, organised by the George Washington University, with the participation of European, American and Canadian universities. The team consisted of the students Areti Vasmada, Socratis Al Zoambie, Despoina Damianidou, Thodoris Sidiropoulos, Maria Simaioforidou and Ino Terzi, the last two representing the team in the finals. The team’s supervisor was Dr Revecca Pedi, Assistant Professor at the Dept. of International and European Studies of the University of Macedonia.
The Greek students, after an eight months effort, with systematic work and perfect cooperation, managed to advance to the final phase of the competition, which they won due to their very well structured arguments, their knowledge, and their endurance in a ten hours continuous competition in English, thus making the entire academic community of the University of Macedonia proud.
Supporting this effort has been a great pleasure for the Chair holder, Professor D. Skiadas, and there is the intention to continue to support, always within the Chair’s scope and potential, such efforts in the future. The notebooks are titled «The Common Security and Defence Policy in the EU budget for the period 2021-2027» and «Euro-atlantic alliance in economic terms - National budgetary contributions in common defence schemes», and they can be studied here
