Activities of the Jean Monnet Chair during the study visit in Boston, on 9-13 December 2019

There have been numerous successful academic activities by the Jean Monnet Chair “Budgetary Governance of the EU and Audit” of the University of Macedonia in Boston, during the relevant study visit on 9-13 December 2019. More specifically the Chair participated with two papers, one by the Chair holder, Professor Dimitrios Skiadas, and one by the Chair’s associate Mrs Aikaterini Tsalambouni, PhD candidate, at the 2019 International Conference for Sustainable Development which took place at Harvard University (10&11.12.2019). Furthermore, the Chair holder, Professor Dimitrios Skiadas had working meetings with a) Professor Konstantinos Arvantitopoulos from Panteion University who is now Chair holder of the Chair for European and Hellenic Studies “Constantinos G. Karamanlis” at the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy in Tufts University (9.12.2019) and b) Professor Vivien Schmidt, Director of the Center for the study of Europe at the Frederic S. Pardee School of Global Studies in Boston University (12.12.2019). During these meetings the possibilities of academic cooperation of the Chair with the corresponding institutions were explored. Finally, Professor Skiadas and Ms Tsalabouni visited the Law Libraries of Harvard University and Boston University, where they studied and collected extensive materials for the data base and the research activities of the Jean Monnet Chair.
